Description
External coating large diameter steel pipe
Pellets of adhesive PE (inner layer) and compound PE (outer layer) are melted and extruded into a thin film through a slit of a T-die by screws installed in the extruders.
The film is wound around the pipe spirally to coat the pipe after adhesive primer is applied to the steel pipe surface.

Applications
The proper adhesive layer can provide line pipe with heat resistance high enough for operating temperatures up to 80℃ for PE and 110℃ for PP.
Pipe coated with polyethylene by this method combines excellent mechanical properties and stable chemical and electrical characteristics, making it suitable for:

Color code
The standard color of the PE is black, and PP is white.
Standard thickness of coated layer
The standard layer thickness is minimum 2.5mm or 3.5mm, but this value can be changed upon customer’s request.
Pipe ends
The uncoated length at each pipe end is about 6inch(150mm) as a rule, but this value may be changed upon customer’s request.
Marking
Marking is made on the internal surface of one end of the pipe according to the customer’s instructions.
