ASTM A671 Electric Fusion Welded Steel Pipe for Atmospheric and Lower Temperatures

ASTM A671 standard covers electric fusion welded steel pipe with fill metal added, fabricated from pressure vessel quality plate of several analyses and strength levels and suitable for high pressure service at atmospheric and lower temperatures. Heat treatment may or may not be required to attain the desired properties or to comply with applicable code requirements.

Product analysis of plate: the product analysis shall meet the requirements of the plate specification to which the material was ordered. Plate quality is given by,

Product analysis of weld: we will make an analysis of finished deposited weld material from each 200ft (60m) or fraction thereof. Analysis shall conform to the welding procedure for deposited weld metal.

Analysis may be taken from the mechanical test specimens. The results of the analyses shall be reported to the purchaser.

Requirements for delivery

The electric-fusion-welded steel pipe furnished to ASTM A672 standard shall conform to the applicable requirements of the current edition of specification A530/A530M unless otherwise provided.

Appearance of ASTM A671EFW

The finished pipe shall be free of injurious defects and shall have a workmanlike finish. The tube shall actually be straight. And both ends shall be at right angles to the axis. The surface of the steel pipe can be oiled, varnished, anti-corrosion according to customer requirements.

Inspection of the ASTM A671 EFW

Chemical analysis, Tension and bend test, Charpy V-Notch test, Hardness test, Magnetic particle examination of base metal and weld meta, ultrasonic inspection, Radiographic examination, Hydrostatic test.
