Spiral Submerged Arc Welding or Submerged Arc Helical Welding

SSAW or SAWH tube is made of rolling low-carbon structural steel or low-alloy structural steel strip into a tube billets on the basis of a certain spiral angle (called forming angle), and then welding the tube joints. It can be made with a narrower strip steel produces large diameter steel pipes. Its specifications are expressed by outer diameter multiply by wall thickness, and the SSAW pipe shall be ensured that the hydraulic test, the tensile strength of the weld and the cold bending performance must meet the requirements.

3. Proper removal of shallow surface defects using appropriate means is permitted if the remaining wall thickness fulfills the specified rang.

Tube protection

Pipe shall be furnished with plain right-angle cut or beveled end. All burrs at ends of pipe shall be removed. The small size tubes are provided with pipe caps as the purchaser specified, and large size tubes are furnished with pipe end protectors or with thick cotton rope at the ends. If agree upon between the purchaser and the manufacturer, the pipe shall be given a protective coating of the kind and in the manner specified by the purchaser. The coatings we can offer includes hot galvanized coating, varnished, 3LPE, 2LPE, dual layer FBE,etc.

Packing and transit

Packing: we use standard seaworthy packing for long distance transportation. For example, in loose packing, each end bound with one piece cotton rope as well as a plastic cap. Sometimes, packed in woven bags or wooden cases.

Transit：by bulk ship or 40’ high container carrier.
