DIN1626 specification applies to welded circular tubes and pipes with a longitudinal or spiral weld, made of unalloyed steels, USt37.0, St37.0, St44.0 and St52.0.

DIN1626 Welded Circular Unalloyed Steel Tubes
Manufacturing process of DIN1626 standard
Steel tubes subject to DIN1626 standard shall be fabricated in fully mechanized process, genrally by double side submerged arc fusion welding carried out in such a way that a longitudinal weld or a spiral weld is produced, or by pressure welding in such a way that a longitudinal weld is produced joining appropriately bent sheet or strip. Pressure welded tubes made from St44.0 or St52.0 steel shall only be manufactured by electric pressure welding. If necessary, the tubes shall be finished to the final dimensions by additional hot reducing or cold drawing or by drifting or rolling to size.

Appearance of surface and weld
1. Welded steel tubes we exported have a smooth outside and inside surface.
2. Slight irregularities in the surface such as raised or depressed area or shallow grooves are permitted as long as the remaining wall thickness reaches the requirements and the function of the tubes is not impaired.
3. Proper removal of shallow surface defects using appropriate means is permitted if the remaining wall thickness fufils the specified rang.
Usage of welded steel tubes according to DIN1626 standard
These tubes are predominantly used in the construction of chemical plant, vessels, pipework and for general mechanical engineering purposes.
