ASTM A252 Welded and Seamless Steel Pipe Piles

 

ASTM A252 covers nominal or average wall steel pipe piles of cylindrical shape and applies to pipe piles in which the steel cylinder acts as a permanent load-carrying member, or as a shell to form cast-in-place concrete piles.

Manufacture processing

ASTM A252 steel pipe piles can be manufactured by seamless, ERW, EFW, flash welding. As to the welded pipe piles, the weld joints may be straight, spiral or helix, spiral lap welding. And it shall be ensure that the welds can not break under the normal use conditions when the steel pipe pile is used as an end purpose.

 

Allowable tolerance on weight

The weight of any length of pipe pile shall not vary more than 15% over or 5% under the nominal weight. Each length shall be weighed separately.

 

Allowable deviation in outside

The outside diameter of steel pipe piles shall not vary more than +/-1% from the specified.

 

Allowable deviation in wall thickness

The minimum wall thickness at any point of the pipe body shall not less 12.5% than the nominal specified.

 

Allowable tolerance on length

We supply the following length,

Length as specified with tolerance of +/-1% inch.

Single random length is from16-25 feet inclusive.

Double random length is over 25 feet and the minimum average length is 35 feet.

 

Application of ASTM A252 steel pipe piles
