Introduction

ASTM A209 seamless alloy steel tube is a carbon-molybdenum alloy boiler and superheater tubes. ASTM A209 standard covers three steel grades: Gr. T1, Gr. T1a, Gr. T1b. For 209T1a alloy steel tubes. It contains molybdenum element, which gives the steel tubes good high-temperature resistance. 209T1a alloy steel tubes are suitable for high-temperature environments below 510℃, and not easy to deformation and damage. In additions, 209T1a alloy steel tubes have high strength and excellent corrosion resistance, particularly in sulfide environments, 209T1a alloy steel tubes still can maintain stable operation.

Heat treatment

Hot-finished tubes shall be heat treated at a temperature of 1200℉(650℃) or higher. Cold-finished tubes shall, after the final cold finishing, be heat treated at a temperature of 1200℉(650℃) or higher.
