Hydraulic Impact Downhole Motor

 

Hydraulic Impact Downhole Motor creates axial oscillation using hydraulic energy while drilling to reduce the static friction between wellbore and drill string, thus the ROP can be increased dramatically. Such reduction of static friction produce for reducing weight stacking.

Hydraulic Impact Downhole Motor consists of two parts: the motor section (bottom) and the oscillation sub (top). The oscillation sub is key part for the Hydraulic Impact Downhole Motor. It converts the hydraulic power to a static frequency of pressure pulses which travel up and down the motor section. As the pressure pulse into the oscillation sub, they push on the piston, causing the oscillation sub to stroke open. When the pulse passes, the spring within oscillation sub bring it back to its original position. The repeating movements creates static oscillating effect which spreads out through drill string, reducing friction both up-hole and down- hole.

Rotary Shock Downhole Motor  

 

The rotary sub (bottom) relies on drilling fluid hydraulic energy while drilling to generate its internal hydraulic rotary hammer to create circumferential reciprocating vibration and directly act on the drill tool to reduce stick-slip and increase the effective impact load of the drill bit. This tool increases penetration speed with ROP efficiency.

 

Rotary Shock Downhole Motor

 

The rotary sub has a simple structure, in which the reversing spool continuously supply power to the hydraulic hammer through dynamic alternates action between the high pressure zone (blue area) and the low pressure zone (red area) to generate circumferential torque oscillations and transmits it to the drilling tool through the central spindle.
