Description of ANSI B16.47 welding neck flanges

A flanges is one kind of pipe accessories through which pipes are connected tightly. Flanges with neck can be double face welded between flanges and the end of pipes. So it is called welding neck flanges. Flanges are used in couple, mainly applicable for pipeline engineering. A flange is settled on the end of two pipes separately when using. A gasket is put in the middle of two flanges. Flanges have some bolt holes, then the two flanges shall be connected with bolts, finally, flanges are butt welded with pipes together.

Introduction of ANSI B16.47 blind flanges

A blind flange as well as flange cover is the normal name of blind disk. It is a flange without hole in the center. And it is used to block exit of pipes. Raw materials of blind flanges include carbon steel, stainless steel, alloyed steel, copper, aluminium, PVC, PPR, etc.

Production process of welding neck flanges and blind flanges

Main production methods as follows,

1 Casting. We pick raw materials into a furnace to smelt into molten steel and preheat a metal mould to 800-900℃, then we pour molten steel into the metal mould and make the casting cool to room temperature, subsequently we take out the casting.

2 Forging. After picking out high-quality steel billets, we blank metal materials and heat them. Finally, forming and cooling.

3 Forging stamping. We fill a mould with processing raw materials and keep them on heating, then we fit the materials sufficiently with the mould and make it cool. Next, we get out a flange.
