Description
Introduction
ASTM A671 standard covers tube 400mm in outer diameter or larger and of 6mm wall thickness or greater. This standard include multiple grades and classes. Several grades and classes of pipe can be provided, such as Gr.CC60 CL22. The former represents its steel grades, and the latter represents its classes. The classes designates the type of heat treatment performed during manufacture of the pipe, whether the weld is radio-graphically examined, and whether the pipe has been pressure tested. Different classes have different usage conditions and performance requirements.
Manufacturing process
ASTM A671 EFW steel tube is made by electric fusion welded process. Electric fusion welded using electric energy to heat the metal through consumable electrodes, the metal and filler material are fully melted, ultimately forming a strong weld after cooling. This welded method makes the steel tube has strong connection strength, and the weld is almost seamless, which can effectively prevent leakage, ensuring the sealing of the pipeline system.
