EN10216-5 Seamless Stainless Steel Tubes

Introduction

EN10216-5 standard specified the chemical compositions and mechanical properties of stainless steel tubes. It covers three types of steel grade: austenitic corrosion resisting steels, austenitic creep resisting steels, and austenitic-ferritic steels. Austenitic corrosion resisting steels include X5CrNi18-10 (equivalent to TP304), X2CrNi19-11 (TP304L), and X5CrNiMo17-12-2 (TP316), etc. These steel grades have excellent corrosion resistance, suitable for harsh corrosive environments. Austenitic creep resisting steels have excellent creep resistance, their deformation rate is relatively slow in high temperature environment. This material can maintain shape and dimensional stability for a long time, suitable for high temperature environments. Austenitic-ferritic steels, also known as duplex stainless steels, compared with austenitic and ferritic stainless steel, duplex stainless steels have higher strength and better corrosion resistance, especially their stress corrosion cracking resistance and resistance to pitting corrosion.
