What is ERW pipe?
Electric resistance welded pipe is formed by rolling steel strips or steel plate into a tube shape, and then using electric resistance heating to exert pressure to both ends, and ultimately is formed by welding. This welding method doesn't require filler metal, After processing, it can maintain the strength and performance of raw material, and the surface is relatively smooth. So it is usually used for transportation of liquid and gas, such as water supply pipeline and natural gas pipeline systems, etc.
What is EFW pipe?
Electric fusion welding pipe (EFW) using electric energy to heat the metal through consumable electrodes, the metal and filler metal are fully melted, ultimately forming a strong weld after cooling. This welding method require filler metal to welding, which makes the steel tube has strong connection strength, and the weld is almost seamless.

What is the difference between ERW and EFW Pipe?
The main difference between ERW and EFW pipe is their welding process. For ERW pipe, filler metal is not required, and the welding process is relatively simple. So ERW pipe has higher production efficiency, but the connection strength is lower than EFW pipe. For EFW pipe, filler metal is required during manufacturing. Despite the manufacturing process is relatively complex, it has excellent welding quality.
