Seamless Steel Pipes

Seamless steel pipe covers round, square and rectangular steel with hollow section subject to shape. When circumference equals, round area is the largest in all shapes. Furthermore, the pressure of hollow round section is relatively uniform under internal and external stresses, so the majority of steel pipes are round. It is suitable for transporting fluids including oil,natural gas, water and flowable materials. Because it is light and economical when bending strength are the same as round bar, it is applicable to manufacture machine parts.

According to different production methods seamless steel pipe can be divided into rolled tubes, cold rolled tubes, cold drawn tubes,extrusion tubes etc. The surface shall not exist cracks, folding, rolling, separation, hair and scar. These defects shall be completely removed and the deviation of wall thickness and outside diameter shall not exceed the scope specified in standard after removing.

Scope

API Spec 5L standard is suitable for use in conveying gas, water,and oil in both the oil and natural gas industries, covers seamless and welded steel line pipe.

ASTM A106, this specification covers seamless carbon steel pipe for high temperature service.

ASTM A53, this specification covers seamless and welded black and hot-dipped galvanized steel pipe.

Delivery Condition of seamless steel pipes

Hot rolling(Extrusion, expanding)steel pipe shall be delivered in hot rolled or heat treated condition.It shall be stated in the contract when the heat treatment condition is required.

Cold-drawn(rolling)steel pipe shall be delivered in heat treatment condition.

According to the requirements of the customer, the delivery can also be delivered in cold drawing (rolling) condition through negotiation between the supplier and buyer and indicated in the contract.

(b) Pipe end: +/- 0,5%

(c) Wall thickness: +15%, -12,5%

(d) Length: -0 / +100mm
