Introduction of I-Beam

I-beam is a type of steel with a cross-sectional shape similar to the English letter "I". It is composed of flanges, web plates, and round corners. Different from the top and bottom surface of the flange of H-beam are parallel, the inner surface of the flange of I-beam is oblique, and the slope is 1:6. This design can ensure that the I-beam has good load-bearing capacity and also ensure its stability and safety during uses. Although I-beam is similar to H-beam in appearance, their performance are different. The cross-section of H-beam is more uniform due to the top and bottom of the flange are parallel, which can effectively disperse the stress. So H-beam has good bend resistance and stability. While I-beam have poor load-bearing capacity than H-beam.
