EN 10255 Steel Pipe Technical Profile
EN 10255 is the common European standard for non-alloy steel pipes for low and medium pressure piping systems with welded or threaded connections, e.g. water and gas pipes in buildings.
Standard Scope and Specifications
A.Applicable To
Designed for round, non-alloyed steel pipe, emphasizing its suitability for welding, turning threads, and other mechanical connections (e.g., socket connections).
B.Size Range
a.OD: 10.2 mm ~ 165.1 mm (corresponding to thread sizes 1/8" to 6")
b.Series and Thicknesses: Classified into Medium and Heavy series with three specified thickness types.
C.End Finishes
A variety of pipe end finish options are available, including flat, threaded, or socketed ends, to suit different project connection needs.
Material and Performance Requirements
Main application areas
a.Building structure: used to support frames, pipe piles and mechanical components (e.g. offshore platform pipe piles require high and low temperature toughness).
b.Fluid transportation: water, gas and other low-pressure piping systems, emphasizing the sealing and pressure resistance.
c.Industrial connectors: based on threaded or welded characteristics, widely used in pipeline assembly and equipment fittings.
