Steps for galvanizing:

Surface treatment: 

In order to obtain high-quality hot-dip galvanizing, the steel must be properly treated before being immersed in a molten zinc bath. During the surface preparation phase, the material is degreased / caustic, pickled and fluxed.

Galvanizing:

After the surface treatment, the steel is immersed in a pool of molten zinc. The zinc pool must contain at least 98% pure zinc and be maintained at a temperature between 815º-850ºF.Then the zinc reacts with the iron in the steel to form a series of metallurgically bonded zinc-iron alloy layers with the final top layer 100% zinc.

Inspection:

The quality of the galvanized layer can be identified by visual inspection or various simple physical tests to determine thickness, uniformity, adhesion and appearance to ensure that the coating meets the requirements of the standard.
