Slip-on flange is a type of flange that is inserted into a pipeline and is fixed by welding process. The structure of slip-on flange is simple, unlike the weld neck flanges, slip-on flange doesn't have a weld bevel. Therefore it allows for adjusting the length of the pipeline relative to the position of the flange. This design makes the installation and disassembly process of slip-on flange relative simple and flexible. Slip-on flange is fixed to the pipeline by welding process to ensure the tightness and stability of the connection, avoiding the risk of leakage.
Application conditions of Slip-on Flanges
Slip-on flange doesn't need to complex welding or alignment, making it a ideal choice for the application where quick installation and frequent maintenance are required. But it is not designed to handle high-pressure or high-temperature systems, and may fail or leak under extreme pressure. In additions, slip-on flange doesn't provide the same resistance to vibration as other flanges, welded or socket welded flanges, which can lead to connection failure over time.
