Introduction of internal coating

Pipeline transportation covers there advantages, material saving, high efficiency and no pollution, which has become an ideal tool for conveying water, gas, oil and other fluids. In view of the diversity of transmission media in oil field pipelines such as crude oil, sewage, oil-water mixture and natural gas, and usually acidic, accompanied by sulfide corrosion, the anti-corrosion technology of pipeline internal coating is also varied, including cement-mortar lining, FRP (fiber reinforced plastic) pipe lining, epoxy resin powder coating, lining plastic steel pipe, etc. The internal coating also shall own good adhesion and wear resistance under the scouring of high pressure flowing medium in the pipeline.

The purpose of internal coating for pipeline

1.The inner wall of the pipeline is isolated from corrosive fluids to reduce inner wall corrosion and extend the life of the pipeline.

2.The coating on the inner wall of gas transmission pipeline is broadly used to lower the roughness of the pipe wall, reduce the friction resistance and improve the transmission efficiency.

The common linings on the inner wall of pipeline

1.Epoxy resin composite coating is able to protect the pipeline from abrasion, harsh environmental conditions and external corrosion. It is a long-time anti-corrosion barrier, suitable for the transition from land to air. Due to its durability,it greatly reduces the regular maintenance.

2.Ceramic filling coating, suitable for steel and concrete, is used to protect pipe surface against chemicals.

3.Phenolic epoxy coating, fast curing phenolic epoxy coating, 100% solid content and harmless. It can be used as coating for pipeline repair, and the maximum operating temperature of these pipelines is up to 200 ℃.

4.Polymer composite material is applicable for erosion of water environment in underground pipeline.

5.Fusion bonded epoxy powder is widely used as inner wall coating. The coating thickness is greater than or equal to 50 microns when used for drag reduction, 250 microns when used for general corrosion protection, and 350 microns when used for enhancing corrosion protection.
